Waterside & River Cray

Waterside Gardens and the River Cray through the town centre.

Waterside is the riverside stretch at the heart of Crayford, where Waterside Gardens follows the course of the River Cray through the town centre. The gardens are a green oasis between the High Street and the surrounding streets, with footpaths, planting, and the David Evans Pavilion.

## The River Cray

The River Cray rises at Orpington and flows north through the Cray Valley, passing through Crayford before joining the River Darent and, ultimately, the Thames. In Crayford the river is bordered by public gardens and green walks, making it one of the most pleasant parts of the town for a stroll.

## Public Art

Crayford's riverside and town centre are dotted with public sculpture celebrating the town's aviation and industrial heritage, including works by the sculptor Andy Scott and memorials to the aviators Alcock and Brown.
